Portrait Workshop Matt Waruszynski

Mark is an artist who specialises in figurative work and portraits. He is really interested in exploring how the body and face tell the story of our lives.

“Our body keeps score of all of our traumas, joys, struggles and triumphs and I feel to use painting and drawing as a way to understand and tell these stories”.

Mark is fascinated by the materiality of paint, which he likes to apply thickly in an impasto style and as such sees his method as sculpting with paint. With a background in animation, he is drawn to fast, energetic marks to give a sense of life and movement in his work.

A recommended equipment list will be emailed to you. There is a cafe at the centre, but it is advised that you bring your own lunch.
