Joining the Society
Are you a talented local artist who’d like to become a member of Bucks Arts Society? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
The Society currently has around 100 members, a large proportion of whom are professional and semi-professional artists, although we are equally happy to hear from talented up-and-coming amateurs artists too.
Our members represent a wide variety of styles and media and everyone has been elected to the Society on the basis of their skill as artists and all have been elected through a selection committee.
Members have access to a network of professional and semi-professional artists, have their work displayed on the Bucks Art Society website, are invited to participate in our Spring and Autumn exhibitions, and are also invited to attend various workshops/demonstrations, visits to galleries, social events, etc.
We are especially keen on attracting individuals who want to take part in creating a vibrant community of like-minded artists. Running the Society is a large undertaking and relies on its members being actively involved and is one of the reasons we can keep the cost of annual membership to just £40.
Requirements
Please be aware that membership is not automatic.
To apply for membership consideration, please complete the form below.
Once we have received your application, you will be invited to submit six art works (framed, priced and labelled as though they were for display at an exhibition), plus a portfolio, sketchbooks and/or journals.
The Selection Committee meets in January and July each year. You will receive dates for delivery/collection of your work for the next selection.
After the Selection Committee has met, you will be notified promptly as to whether you have been selected for membership of Bucks Art Society.
