The constant theme in my work is represented by ‘the line’ which creates a connection between my past and my present.  My working method has been developed out of necessity: very little time and a growing family which required a way of working allowing bursts of hard graft and period of neglect. As the years have passed, I can now spend time developing ideas and colour schemes all still underpinned by the line.

My artwork is not a constant narrative; it can sometimes be thematic. However, it is united by the hands that make it and the printing method used. What I like about printing is best described by artist Stephen Chambers who says: ‘printing is a mix of Chance, Recklessness and the unexpected’, that is why I am drawn to it because it has an element of control and surprise. I am interested in patterns and I am often inspired by nature, authors, art history, the rhythm of poetry and the final work has to have texture.  I like exploring printmaking with different methods such as screenprinting, monoprinting, drypoint and photopolymer etching.

Wolfango Chiappella

I’m a British-Italian artist, based in Buckinghamshire but originally from the rolling hills of Piedmont, Italy. I paint mostly in oils, working from memory, sketches, and those quiet moments when a place stops you mid-step.

My work tends to orbit around landscapes — not the grand postcard kind, but the everyday corners where light, sky, and earth have a quiet conversation. I’m drawn to the shifts in weather, the worn paths, the way a tree can lean into a field like it's got a story to tell.

I’m not much for big statements. I paint what I notice, and sometimes what I miss. Sometimes I’m chasing a real memory, sometimes it’s the feeling of one.

Each painting is a small attempt to hold onto something fleeting — a sky clearing after rain, the gold haze of a summer field, the hush just before dusk. If you find a bit of yourself in any of them, then the painting’s done its job.
